If the player is not moving, he will simply roll in the direction of the cursor. Fish will always roll the direction that the player is currently moving in. This is a short dash that is meant for purely for manuverability and does NOT offer any invincibility frames rolling while firing your weapon still works. He is recommended for all areas of play.Īctive - Fish can roll. Combined these two makes Fish an extremely well-rounded character for preloop, making Fish a great choice for those learning the game.īoth of Fish's ultra mutations allows him to heavily lean into a very aggressive playstyle this allows him to hold up incredibly well for Loop play as well as Late Game. He is able to use short rolls to make his way around the level and weave in and out of danger, and extra ammunition from pickups enables him to have more forgiving ammo consumption. As a starter character his loadout kit seems relatively simple. I think if I've gotten anything out of this it's that I shouldn't be playing Fish.Fish is one of the two characters unlockable from the start, and can be viewed as the mascot of Nuclear Throne itself. ![]() Nice to generate some discussion, anyway. Seems like people like confiscate a lot more than I expected. Sorry for being an idiot and not realizing fish had ammo-related passives for some reason I'd always thought he had no passive. This would also make his throne butt more valuable without actually changing it.Īnd, as much as everyone else seems to love Gun Warrant, I don't think Confiscate is particularly useful, interesting, or well-liked at all.ĮDIT: thanks for all the feedback. While Fish isn't particularly unique outside of his roll, the guitar is a big reason I play him at all and it would be nice to have an ultra mutation that was more suited to the roll-and-melee style - maybe one that would increase melee range or damage while rolling/water-boosting, or something like that. And, after another look at the wiki, it seems that literally every other ultra mutation has some pertinence to the character's active or passives, while Fish seems to have been arbitrarily saddled with ammo-related ultras. I don't post on here much (or on reddit at all) but I've been lurking for a while and thought I wouldn't get nearly as much feedback if I posted on the steam forums instead.Īnyway, there's a thing that's been bugging me lately: as much as I love playing Fish, I really don't find either of his ultras interesting at all.
